Entrepreneurship Development Programme
Five Day Workshop
The college organized as per the direction of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Chennai and ICTACT a three phased EDP with an objective of creating entrepreneurship awareness among college students. The first phase of the programme was held on 24.2.2015 in which 300 students from different disciplines participated. Mr.Shalin, Programme In-charge, ICTACT, Chennai, Dr.V.Sivakumar, Asso.Professor, Madurai Kamaraj University and Prof.S.Ganesan, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Commerce of host college addressed the students and gave useful guidance to face the online screening examination for the second phase successfully. Twenty students from this group were shortlisted for the second Phase based on their performance in the On-line exam. Two students from this phase will be selected for the final phase based on their understanding of the subject and aspiration to start business. The Second phase of EDP held as a five day workshop from 4.8.2015 to 8.8.2015 at our college Resource persons from ICTACT delivered lectures and conducted activities on the first four days. The Students visited nearby industries in the district on the fifth day.
Youth Red Cross
Youth Red Cross wing of the College organized a district level Students study camp at our college on 29th sep.2014. 100 students across the district participated in the workshop. Role and function of the YRC was explained by various resource persons and office bearers at district level and by Professor in-charge of YRC from University. Students were advised to come forward for blood and organ donations.
YRC conducted a public rally on 26.6.2015 to observe international Day against illicit trafficking and drug abuse. Dr.S.Durai, Superintendent of Police, addressed the students and flagged of the rally. Dr.S.Nirmaladevi, Principal also addressed the students.
