The Department of English has been functioning since the inception of the institution by offering part II language programme for Pre-University courses as well as for other disciplines. It has emerged as a full-fledged Department by introducing B.A. Degree programme in the academic year 2012-13. Consequently M.A. English programme was starrted in the academic year 2015-16 due to the great demand from the student aspirants. Recently, under RUSA scheme three new class rooms have been constructed for U.G. Programme. Experienced, well qualified and dedicated members of staff in the department make remarkable contributions for the growth and success of the department. Our P.G. students secured university ranks in the Alagappa University semester examinations.
