It is a matter of great pride and delight that Our Raja Doraisingam Govt. Arts College sets its foot in its 76th year after accomplishing several scores of higher educational service to the under privileged youth in the backward district. Education is the most powerful tool of empowerment, especially in the country like India, where the Youth population is greater. The invaluable human resource goes in vain if our youth are not imparted with quality education and life skills. Our father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji, exhorted empowerment of youth of the villages by appropriate indigenous skills and knowledge as he believed that eighty percent of population were in the rural India, the heart of the nation. Our Institution which was established even before independence by the great philanthropist and then King Lord Shanmugaraja, has dedicated to the task of disseminating quality higher education to the rural youth. The vision of our institution carries the dream of the great visionary to empower rural youth with quality education and our dedicated team of members of faculty are serving towards fulfilling the mission.

I’m much pleased to share with you that our institution has witnessed a fast paced infrastructure growth and vibrant research activities in the post accreditation period by means of RUSA fund and magnanimous contribution of central and state government funds. To cope with changing technological development, entire campus is connected by PAS. CCTV surveillance is available to ensure students’ safety and effective observation of the college activities. Effective teaching and learning practices by experienced faculty members enable our students to secure university ranks in Alagappa University semester examinations and equally remarkable is our students’ performance in NCC, NSS, Sports and Games, etc.,

In my view, acquiring information is no longer the main focus of education; instead the main aim of education is to build the power of human mind and spirit. We believe in providing our students an environment conducive to acquire rich knowledge in their core domain as well as good involvement in extracurricular activities. We aim to evaluate our students on the basis of their physical, mental, emotional and intellectual development.It is rightly said that “a dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement.” We are committed in taking constructive and purposeful actions to produce optimistic, independent, employable youth who will bring glory to our college, the state and the nation.

My best wishes to the student community to become successful in academics as well as in life, and I congratulate our team of both teaching and non teaching staff for their cooperation for having accomplished our common goal in the past and to attain greater heights in the years to come.
